In light of the unprecedented and targeted harassment directed at our private lives, this statement serves as a final notice to the global media and international public communities: Respect my right to privacy and the privacy of my fiancé Prince Joachim of Belgium.
The digital sphere is being weaponized into a space of excessive online bullying, harassment, dissemination of misinformation, and a persistent invasion of privacy for Prince Joachim and me. While certain institutions in the Brussels and Paris Metropolitan areas, as well as members of the international press, push "fake news" narratives to project their own thoughts and opinions about the lives of private individuals such as ourselves, we are looking firmly toward the future.
Any further propagation of "hoax" labels, hacking of personal devices, stalking, defamation of character, or harassment of our families or us will be met with immediate, aggressive legal action. Prince Joachim and I are not public commodities to be curated for your entertainment. We are private individuals. Our personal, professional, and private lives are not open to the public or for your entertainment.
This is the first and last warning. Any further continuation of the aforementioned malicious actions and malevolent behaviors, or breach of this request, will be treated as a hostile act against our peace.
